60009s Last Cotswold Blast? 60009 Union of South Africa 22nd February 2020

60009s Last Cotswold Blast? 60009 Union of South Africa 22nd February 2020 In this video we capture 60009 Union of South Africa on The Cotswold Venturer as she blasts through the Cotswolds for 'what could be' the very last time as she is supposedly due to retire in April when her boiler certificate expires.

We see the A4 blast through Shrivenham (Just outside Swindon) at speed in the early morning drizzle.

Blasting up the steep Sapperton East climb up towards the tunnel with a doppler whistle.

Blasting away from Abbotswood Junction at Besford as she got up to speed as she headed towards Cheltenham.

Blasting up the very 1 in 60 of Sapperton Bank making fantastic noise. (Also featuring a doppler whistle in the first clip)

And finally to finish off the day, blasting through Cholsey after departing Didcot Parkway on her way.back to London Paddington (featuring another doppler whistle in the first clip)

Overall a fantastic and unforgettable day out chasing 60009 with her performing fantastically at every location. This day was certainly the loudest I’ve ever heard an A4! Especially on the 1 in 60 at Sapperton.

To say we traveled 460 miles for this chase it was certainly worth it!
