Raffles Institution (RI) said pupils and staff who had been in close contact with a COVID-19 infected student have been put on leave of absence. They will be supported with home-based learning. The 12-year-old boy, identified as Case 96, was confirmed to have COVID-19 on Feb 27. He is a family member of Case 94, a 64-year-old Singaporean woman. The student last attended classes at RI and the MOE Language Centre (MOELC) about a week ago, before going on medical leave. RI and the MOELC in Bishan suspended classes on Feb 28 for one day to carry out a thorough cleaning and disinfecting of school premises.
