Impressive Runway Usage Efficiency 'one in, one out' - Gatwick Controllers show how it's done!

London Gatwick Airport holds the world title for having the most efficient runway-usage, dealing with as many as 55 movements per hour. I was really pleased with this shot I filmed at Gatwick back in April 2019, just seconds after one aircraft lifts off the tarmac, another touches down on it. This level of efficiency is commonplace at Gatwick. It really is impressive to watch the incredible job the NATS Air traffic controllers do in separating the traffic enough to provide a safe gap, while maximising the runway occupation at the same time.
