Sky News contributor Cory Bernardi says he is “all for getting our troops out of Afghanistan” but any sort of appeasement of an “enemy of the west is fraught with danger”. The US and the Taliban have signed a peace deal which will pave the way for US and allied forces to withdraw troops from Afghanistan over a 14-month period.
However, Mr Bernardi said “this is not a long term solution”.
“Doing a deal with the Taliban is like feeding your mates to the crocodile hoping he’ll eat you last”.
