Stalin did everything from being terrible to his family, to eliminating political adversaries, to causing millions of deaths.
The gulags were one of the worst things he did, but they aren't even number one.
The gulags were truly terrible though. The Russian Gulags were overcrowded because Stalin loved putting people in the Gulags. Nowadays there are many jokes of how much Stalin loved putting his own Soviet citizens in the gulags, but at that time, they were no joking matter.
The gulags were terrible, but another terrible thing Stalin did was the Ukrainian Holodomor.
The Ukrainian Holodomor is something most people don't know about... But the Ukrainian people certainly remember the holodomor.
It was a man made famine, more specifically, it was a famine made by Joseph Stalin.
Stalin created this Ukrainian Holodomor for reasons I've explained in the video, and what happened to the Ukrainian people was truly terrible.
The Ukrainian Holodomor definitely left a terrible scar on the Ukrainian people, and the Ukrainian Holodomor will always be remembered by Ukrainian History.
This was brought on by collectivization. Collectivization was Stalin's strategy to bring all of the farms in his nation under government rule. They were originally owned by the Kulaks, and Stalin did not like them!
But it must be said, that without Stalin, it is very possible Hitler would have been able to make more progress throughout his conquest. So credit must be given where it is due.
