The M & the P’s cover of “Dedicated To The One I Love” is at #2 for it’s 2nd of 3 weeks in row. It was kept out of the top spot all 3 weeks by The Turtles’ “Happy Together”.
Kudos to the producers who made the TOP 10 board today. 6 of the 10 songs are actually in the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 including “Happy Together”, “Dedicated….”, “There’s A Kind of Hush”, “Bernadette”, “This is My Song”, and “Somethin’ Stupid” and the other 4 songs are in the top 20.
In a few minutes the winners of the “1967 Swing Dance Contest”, Judy Michaud and Frank Vanderpuil, will be announced (thus the numbers on some of the dancers’ backs). The reason I have this episode is thanks to Judy (Michaud) Bayer who gave a copy to Don Sanuskar before she passed away in 2012, and Don generously gave a copy to me. Thank you Judy (RIP) and Don!

For TV nerds (like me) the girl in the Clairol Summer Blonde commercial is Andrea Dromm. You might recognize her from her brief appearance in the 2nd “Star Trek” pilot (the first with William Shatner) “Where No Man Has Gone Before”. The following year (1966) she starred in “The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming”……..”Emergency! Everybody to get from street!”
