Coronavirus outbreak: B.C. officials urge public against large gatherings, international travel

British Columbia’s top doctor has urged residents to avoid all non-essential international travel, including to the United States.

Dr. Bonnie Henry, the provincial health officer, directed organizers to cancel any gathering larger than 250 people.

Henry said schools would remain open, but that measures should be taken to keep young people safe and teach them about proper hygiene and social distancing.
